Established in 1936, Norvelt Elementary School provides learning opportunities for students in kindergarten through grade six. Its academic curriculum includes classes in a variety of subjects, such as reading, math and language arts. The school has an enrollment of more than 500 students. Norvelt Elementary School also administers art, music, chorus and special education programs. In addition, it offers various child safety and awareness, mental health, after-school study, and social and emotional outreach programs for students. It maintains a library that houses a collection of books and reference materials. Additionally, the school provides transportation and physical and occupational therapy services to students. It is a part of the Mount Pleasant Area School District, which operates a junior-senior high, as well as several elementary schools. Norvelt Elementary School is located in Mount Pleasant, Pa.
