UMEADOWS: NOT SUITED FOR THE COLLEGE LIFESTYLE

My roomates and I wish we could switch apartment complexes, but we're stuck. It would be to big of hassle to find and switch apartments in the middle of the year. Plus, there's the termination fee.

Here's the problem: we're constantly getting nickled and dimed by a relentless onlslaught of noise violations. Granted, some of the violations we deserve. Many of them we also did not. Today we received a noise violation for 200 dollars. Unsure why we got a fine, since the music playing was within reason, I went to leasing office to get things clarified (I didn't know if they had the wrong apartment or what). I was told by the student workers who gave it to me that they didn't think the music was actually bad but had to give us the fine anyway, since someone complained. I know they were just doing what they were supposed to, but still that explanation was frustrating to hear.

Anybody looking to lease here, hear's my warning if u like playing music this isn't the apartment complex for u. The way the comlex is setup u share a building and hallway with six other apartments, and chances are you'll have one uptight neighbor who will complain (it'd be nice if they just told us to turn it down). Every other complex I've been to, the residents play their music significantly louder and are able to get away with it.

Also, we received other fines for having a computer chair on the balcony and a soccer team's banner hanging over the balcony railing bc it "wasnt't patio furniture".  For an apartment complex that advertises towards colledge students, these fines are excessive.
