      Behavioral Health Services North has emerged as a leader in behavioral health services in the northernmost area of New York State bordering Canada and Vermont. Located along the shores of Lake Champlain, the nonprofit organization has more than 20 sites, which comprise its 27 programs and administrative facility. BHSN s administrative offices are located in Plattsburgh, N.Y. Clients live or are seen at various locations, which meet their needs throughout the tri-county area. BHSN utilizes a wide range of treatment staff including psychiatrists, Ph.D. psychologists, masters-prepared clinical social workers and counselors, nurse practitioners and bachelors-prepared staff in a variety of human service fields. Established in 1874 by Margaret Platt was as the Home for the Friendless, the BHSN facility cared for orphans and abandoned children of the community.
