Why can't I give NO STARS??? DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE!!! RUN AWAY!!! DO NOT GIVE HER ANY OF YOUR MONEY!!! You will not have any recourse if she provides you a disservice, as she did to me! Here is my story: During the month of February, 2017, I brought nine brand-new, never-worn, long-sleeve dress shirts (with tags still attached) into Alison's Custom Sewing and Alterations to have the sleeve lengths altered. After the owner measured the sleeves and pinned them to get the cuff lengths right, I was told to check back in a few weeks. After approximately two weeks, I was told that the shirts were not ready, so I came back a week later to pick them up. The owner stated that the shirts were ready and that the total price for the alterations would be $81.00. I paid for the project in full by personal check and received the shirts in a bag. I then took them directly to the dry cleaning service. After receiving them from the dry cleaning service and taking them home, I was disheartened to discover that all nine brand-new dress shirts had been radically modified into poorly-crafted short-sleeve versions (no fore-arm sleeve length, no cuffs or buttons) and not the long-sleeve cuff-length-altered versions that had been originally agreed upon. I immediately returned them to Alison's Custom Sewing and Alterations to explain my plight. After politely expressing my disappointment, the owner of Alison’s Custom Sewing and Alterations stated, sarcastically, that the sleeves and cuffs could not very well be sewn back on. After some discussion, I was offered a refund of the original alteration charge of $81.00. I then informed the owner that the dress shirts were no longer suitable to wear and that they would need to be replaced, so I would need to be reimbursed for the cost of the shirts, as well as for the alteration and dry cleaning fees. I was told by the owner that this type of refund would not be possible and that all that could be offered would be the $81.00 refund and an apology. I had no other choice but to take her to court. I won my case in Small Claims Court, but she appealed, requesting a trial by jury. Today, the judge dismissed the case, because she is not doing business under a legally recognized name. Now, after two years, I am still out a grand total $1,390.56 with no possible recourse. That is why I say DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE!!! RUN AWAY!!! DO NOT GIVE HER ANY OF YOUR MONEY!!!
