General Info

Central High School aims to assist student's growth by fostering improved attitudes, skills and knowledge while developing self-esteem and self-direction, empowering the students we serve. Central High School is the continuation high school that serves the Morgan Hill Unified School District. It offers a viable alternative to the traditional high school for many students and provides a personalized setting and smaller classes emphasizing student success in a non-competitive manner. Central offers a standards-based academic high school curriculum as adopted by the Board of Education and the Morgan Hill Unified School District. Central High's semesters are divided into learning blocks of six weeks. Through classroom activities and outside-of-class contracts, students have an opportunity to earn additional credit so that they can make up lost credits and to be on target to graduate on time. Students receive whole-class lessons and are held to specific deadlines for turning in their work. All students are expected to complete work at "C" level or higher and must complete all work assigned. Community support gives added assistance to students through the Central High School Booster Club and the partnerships established with different community organizations, agencies, and the business community. Central's Booster Club and the business community are instrumental in recognizing students with scholarships, awards, school celebrations, and staff recognition. The Interact Club, which is sponsored by the Rotary, helps students to become involved with their neighborhood through outside community projects. These activities support the ESLR of being responsible citizens who contribute time and talents to the whole community.
