Founded in 1873, Moravia Volunteer Fire Company provides fire protection to more than 4,000 residents living in an area of over 30 square miles. It works to protect schools, manufacturing facilities, businesses, nursing homes, senior housing communities and multiunit apartments. The company operates a training unit that conducts educational sessions in operation, emergency medical services, technical rescue, and hazardous material and basic medical response. Moravia Volunteer Fire Company houses various engines, rescue vans and trucks. It also conducts various firefighter safety and fire prevention education programs.
