Lakewood changed ownership around the end of 2015. They have a new outdoor play area with turf and a swimming pool for your pet. The inside has been updated as well, much cleaner also. Doctor Methe is great. She is very informative and spends time with you to answer all questions. We have a new puppy named Ranger and we would not think of taking our little one anywhere else.

Took one of our cats in for emergency surgery this morning, on a recommendation from the emergency vet we took him to last night. I warned the "tech" that we believed his shots were out of date, that he was VERY scared, he did NOT like people he didn't know, he does NOT like strange places, and HE WILL TRY TO BITE! TAKE EXTREME PRECAUTIONS!. So what do they do? A pair of gloves and hope for the best? Seriously? The emergency room vet used what looked like welding gloves and a blanket to sedate him! I seriously believe that this "vet" office saw an opportunity to make more money off a bad situation (for us). Now our cat is under a 10 day quarantine because the "tech" knew more about my cat than I do. Never setting foot in this hole again!

Dr. DeQuick is great and gives you all the answers; the other doctors...not so much. Constant staff turnover concerns me; staff leaves alot to be desired. I don't like that they take your pet in back room and examine and treat and bring them back and tell you what's wrong.........I want to be there to see what's going on.

Extremely happy! Very professional, caring and compassionate. They take their time with you and your pet, addressing all your questions and concerns. Yes, they take blood samples and run a full bloodwork run-up, just like your doctor does with you. Wouldn't you want to know if there was a problem with your pets health that you couldn't see - like high cholesterol? They are extremely thorough and have always taken great care of both my cat and dog.

I've been taking my dog to Lakewood for a couple of years now and the doctors and staff have been excellent!

Constant staff turnover. Listed vet for local pet store with many pet health issues. Insists on you having lab work on your pet that is not required. Horrible staff assisstance on picking your animals up after a stay on the weekend. Don't send any personal pet item to board with pet, as it will be lost and staff response is simply "I didn't see it". Limited payment methods. Must schedule your visit. Takes weeks for pet to recover after being boarded there. Very limited run space for boarded pets. And the list goes on.
