TERRIBLE, EMBARRASSMENT TO TAEKWONDO! I Am currently a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, having recently moved to this side of the city I was looking for a new dojo in which to further study. I called ahead to ask one simple question, who was the master teaching the classes. Laura Sexton, the assistant, did eventually tell me that it was her husband, Master Sexton. She did this only after having me answer who I was, my name, why I wanted to know, and more. (who knew the instructors name was a secret) I told her my name and asked her why there needed to be 20 questions when all I wanted to know is who the instructor would be, as I was "shopping around" for me to find the best experience. Her professional response was to hang up on me. I was already near the school, so I decided to go in to view the school; one bad experience doesn't mean they will all be bad so I figured I would head in. They have a neat setup and as one of the student/instructors began to talk to me Laura came out of her office to confront me. I was honestly shocked by this behavior, especially when self discipline is so highly valued in all Tae Kwon Do schools I have been associated with. I want to make it clear that I never once spoke down to her, raised my voice or said anything that would be negative to her or anyone else. She said I was ABOUT to chew her out. I calmly explained I worked in retail and I would not do that to someone just doing their job. She stood there in the middle of all the adults, children, and parents telling me that I was rude, that this was not the place for me, and that I needed to leave. As I am not one to stoop to these levels I did leave. I also told her that I would not want anyone I know going to this dojo. She didn't even have the common decency to talk to me in her office, I understand people having off days. However saying what she said to me (not only as a potential client, but as a human being) in front of all of those men, women, and CHILDREN was insulting and embarrassing. I am an adult, I cannot imagine leaving my children anywhere close to this woman or her place of business. This is a perfect example of why you do your homework first, I would never leave my children in someone's care who has so little respect for others. An Absolutely appalling experience, especially if you know what Tae Kwon Do really stands for. Do your family a favor and find a school with values.

I am very impressed by the staff at the USA Taekwondo Center, my first thought was thank heaven there is no asian language barrier here!. They made us very comfortable being new students. They explained everything in detail as I learned exactly what they offered, which is much more than learning to beat people up. I took the standard free lessons at several places and the difference was huge... Attitude, Attitude, Attitude. Ok, price? seems no one wants to tell you the price anymore. Well I found out why; the price depends on what you really want and there is a major difference in schools, so comparing price doesn't make sense until you compare instructors. The teachers are fantastic and I feel like I can trust them with my family. They aren't the cheapest, but they are not the most pricey either so the value is just right for us.

I can say that Grand Master Sexton is a Professional Taekwondo Teacher. I learned recently he is actually degreed in instructing martial arts and leadership. He is a true inspiration to his students of all ages and has taught in Moore for decades. As a Captain in the Fire Department, he has been a servant to the citizens of Oklahoma for over 30 years, aiding in the Murrah bombing as well as the several devastating Tornadoes we have suffered over the years. Grand Master Sexton is a Master Instructor in not only in Taekwondo but in the Korean Martial Arts as well. He is a Graduate of Baek Seok University Grand Masters in Seoul, Korea and was appointed as the USA Director for the Korean Martial Arts Association. Our family has benefited greatly from our involvement with the USA Taekwondo Center where all of our children have been personally mentored by the Black Belt Staff. If you are looking for a Professional Taekwondo Center that can instill success and leadership skills along with sel
