We brought back garments that were still wrinkled and appeared damaged. The store owners displayed inappropriate verbal and physical behavior when we returned, yelling at us and man-handling the garments prior to agreeing to a partial refund.
DETAILS: A family member (FM) and I dropped off wedding clothes to steam. After pick up, the dress was still wrinkled and 3 areas appeared dimpled. The veil and bridesmaid dress were also still wrinkled. We brought them back to the store, and FM showed the woman the dimples in the train. She said she could fix the dents and started to pull on the dress.
When I said there were still wrinkles in the veil, the woman crumpled the material in her fists and released it. She said we could see how easy it wrinkled. I said we hadn't handled it in that fashion. She repeated pulling and twisting the wedding dress and crumpling the veil several more times. A man came up from the back, asked what was wrong and then laughed when we showed him the wrinkles.
The two spoke with each other in a foreign language, and we realized she might further damage the garments, so we gathered them to leave. As I turned to leave, her husband yanked the veil and bridesmaid dress out of my hands and crumpled them in his fists. I pulled the items back and told him to stop. He yelled at us to give him back the garments; FM said no and handed me the wedding dress to bring back to the car.
When FM returned to the car, she told me the woman said if we brought the garments back in so they could wrinkle them, she would give a full refund--she did not trust that we were going to a different cleaner and said we were trying to get a free steam for the garments.
We took the garments to another cleaner and a wedding dress seamstress; both stated the Royal Cleaners woman's steam/press job and/or handling had torn holes in the dress, making it dimple, and it was irreparable.
