Well, they wouldn't let my friends on their bike tour in the door. You see, they had water bottles. (Fortunately the establishment down the road didn't mind, and like basically every other restaurant we've gone to, gladly refilled said water bottles for the trip forward.) They don't have to worry about serving me...

What a great place! The food was especially tasty and the historic building was interesting.. Our server was delightful and happy to answer all our questions about Moncello. We were on our way to a wedding at the sunken gardens and were very fortunate to have asked the right pedestrian for a good local restaurant.

Very recent visit--service was excellent, food was great, prices were very reasonable: what more could you ask for! Keep in mind that his is not a 4 Seasons or even a Spago, but for Central Illinois and Monticello, it was absolutely great.

Great Food.Good Portions.The service is weird. Set at the bar it is great, set at a table and good luck. I think it is because most of their servers seem lost or very new. They make a lot of waste trips back and forth.
