Loyd Busby Lighting has been operating in the same location for over 72 years, making this one of the oldest continuous operating retail establishments in Monterey. There is ample parking in the front of the store as well as a private parking lot in the back of the store. Each member of Busby's staff is focused on customer service and will identify lighting solutions that best meet the needs of the customers. Loyd Busby's has also revived the lost art of lamp/chandelier repair. And lampshades...You will find one of the largest selections of lampshades in Central California. Absolutly the best store. Busby's knowledgable staff and merchandise selection is wonderful. Busby's is a full service lighting store. Thank you for being there.
Busby's was once a fabulous lighting store. However, since the change of ownership the quality of goods and services has gone down tremendously! The owners seem to have limited knowledge of lighting and repairs and have a high turnover of help. I went in there one morning to buy a shade and the owner was in the backroom yelling and throwing things. You could hear her all over the store and the only sales person out front had to deal with all of the customers by herself while trying to overshadow what was going on.On top of that, the new repair person is absolutely rude and the repair on my antique floor lamp looks absolutely horrible. When I asked one of the owners if they could fix it, she slammed her hand on the counter and screamed at me to take my money back and leave. It is so sad to lose such a great place that store once was!
