- Neuromuscular TherapyNeuromuscular therapy and Myofascial motion technique (both deep massage techniques) are used in the chronic stage to bring blood flow to the area, reduce muscle congestion and break up restrictive scar tissue.
- Hair StraighteningYou have pain around and under the knee cap. The pain may be worse when you walk down stairs and less when you walk up stairs. You also may have pain when you sit with your knee bent for some time. Straightening the knee may relieve the pain temporarily. Active people who walk, run or jump a lot tend to get this problem but more sedentary folks can get it as well. Sometimes you may have no pain when you walk and run, but then you get pain when you rest. This is usually in the beginning of the problem. As the condition gets worse you get pain with activity.
- CryotherapyWe use ice to reduce inflammation and pain. After trauma like a motor vehicle accident, fall or sports injury, there will be a lot of pain and inflammation including swelling. Ice should be used for many days after trauma to reduce inflammation and swelling. Another good example is an ankle sprain, in which ice should be used for many days, sometimes up to a week or more.
- Electrical Muscle StimulationThis therapy delivers low level electrical impulses to injured or painful areas. Muscle stimulation reduces pain and muscle spasm. It can also been shown to stimulate bone growth. Dr. Schwartz uses electrical muscle stimulation to treat the back, neck, hip, knee, heel, shoulder and elbow. Orthopedic surgeons highly recommend muscle stimulation in the treatment of rotator cuff (shoulder) problems. Most patients find this therapy very relaxing.
- Chiropractic AdjustmentsJust like anything else, not all chiropractic care is the same. There is a huge difference in chiropractic philosophy, technical abilities and knowledge from one chiropractor to the next. For one thing the chiropractic adjustment requires an extreme amount of athleticism and coordination on the part of the chiropractor. Done well the adjustment is an extremely effective healing technique and can help you with relief from many health problems. Conversely when the adjustment is not done well you will not get results. As an analogy, patients will take great care in picking a surgeon because they know the results they will get vary greatly from one surgeon to the next.

- Therapeutic ExerciseMost people are aware of the fact that exercise is very important to health. They may also know that it has been shown in research studies to be very helpful in the relief of back pain, neck pain and other joint pains in the body. This specific type of exercise is often termed therapeutic or rehabilitative exercise. Corrective exercise and movement training is a refinement of the basic therapeutic exercise techniques based upon Dr. Schwartz's extensive experience with exercise and body alignment techniques. This is one of the most effective techniques you will ever experience for healing.
