Berkeley Middle School, located in Moncks Corner, S.C., is part of the Berkeley County School District. It offers classes to students in grades six through eight and has an enrollment of more than 1,300 students. Its program ensures a successful transition from the self-contained classroom structure of the elementary school to the departmentalized structure of the high school while providing support and direction. The school provides a comprehensive educational program, including core subjects, such as mathematics, language arts, social studies and science. Additionally, it offers other courses, such as art, music, computer studies and foreign language. Community service projects are part of each grade. Its extracurricular activities include interscholastic and intramural sports and various student clubs and organizations, such as its art, audiovisual, book, ceramics and chess clubs; history, math and Web teams; jazz ensemble; student newspaper; student council; and yearbook.
