- Primary CareAndréa Peterson received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from CSU Stanislaus in 2010. As a registered nurse, she spent two years in the progressive cardiovascular unit and eight years in the pediatrics unit at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, CA, before obtaining her Master of Science in Nursing degree from The University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2021. Andréa completed her clinical residency at Valley Children’s Healthcare in Madera, CA and Valley Children’s Hospital Pelandale Specialty Care Center in Modesto, CA. She joined Valley Oak Pediatric Associates in December of 2022. Andréa is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner of Primary Care through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. She is also a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and American Academy of Pediatrics.
- Ear InfectionsSometimes your child just isn’t feeling well. We often have same-day appointments to get your ill child in quickly to be checked for a variety of illnesses including ear infections, strep throat, upper respiratory infections (“colds”), urinary tract infection, rashes, and many more.
- ImmunizationsRegular well-child visits or “check-ups” are strongly recommended to monitor your child’s health and development. These visits provide us an opportunity to observe your child’s progress, to screen for potential problems, to provide immunizations, and to offer advice and counsel. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends well visits at the following ages: 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months, 18 months, 24 months, 3 years, 4 years, and then annually
- Urinary Tract Infection
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)Our providers offer appointments for the evaluation of ADHD. Please call our office to schedule appointment. We request that Vanderbilt questionnaires (see forms) be completed by parent(s) and teacher(s) prior to appointment. Patients with ADHD are followed regularly to ensure that treatment choices are successful.
- Rashes
- Sports MedicineThis is typically performed at the same time as the annual physical, though your school/sport may require a separate visit. The sports exam sometimes includes a slightly different focus. We can provide a generic form for sports clearance, but some schools require their own form (please bring with you to the visit).
