- Dental ExaminationDr. Hoffmann will consult with you regarding the lesion/area that your dentist would like us to examine. He will perform a thorough oral exam and if necessary, schedule you for an appointment to biopsy the affected area.
- Teeth CleaningWe recommend that your see your dentist regularly for cleanings and exams. Your dentist will do a comprehensive oral exam for you and if they note any soft tissue or bony lesions that they feel need to be examined they will refer you to us for consultation and possible biopsy.
- CrownsA period of 4-5 months is necessary to let the bone integrate with the implant to ensure a solid base. At that time, you will see your dentist who will proceed to place the crown (tooth portion) on the implant.
- Bridges
- DenturesDentures. Usually dentures should not be worn over the surgical site for two weeks. Thereafter they will be relined at your dentist’s office and can be worn.
- Dental ImplantsWhen you have an extraction, it is sometimes necessary to place a “bone graft” in the area of the missing teeth. This especially may be true if you are considering a dental implant in that area. It is also sometimes necessary to perform a bone graft if there is a defect in an area of your mouth, sometimes due to a cyst, congenital defect or traumatic injury.

- Maxillofacial SurgeryDr. Hoffmann completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Minnesota after graduating from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He is board certified and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the Minneapolis District Dental Society.

- Bone GraftingThe bone grafting material is placed in the area that needs it and over time, will fuse with your existing bone to provide a solid base. This can take several months to make sure there is adequate bone in the grafted area.
