Detector Electronics Corporation is a division of UTC Fire & Security, which is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation, a worldwide technology company with a long history of pioneering advancements in aerospace, aviation, helicopter design, climate control, elevator design and hydrogen fuel cells. Detector Electronics, also known as Det-Tronics, has more than 25 years of experience in flame, fire alarm and gas detection systems. The company manufactures ultraviolet and infrared sensors for flame detectors, catalytic gas sensors used in combustible gas detectors, and electronic personal computer board and detector/controller assemblies. It also maintains an offsite fire and gas test facility. Its optical flame detectors incorporate technologies in UV, IR and fiber optics. In its gas detection line, it employs technologies for catalytic, electrochemical, thin-film semiconductor and IR absorption. The flame and gas systems range from conventional to fault tolerant and configurable detection and releasing systems. Detector Electronics Corporation is headquartered in Bloomington, Minn.
