This is an honest and fair pawn shop in a convenient location. I was very impressed with the owner and quality of items sold.

I pass by Lightning Pawn every day on my way to work but have never stopped in. I had some time one day so I decided to go in and check it out. I walked around a shop that had so many cool thing to look at it was almost like stepping back into time however, I was most impressed with how Ryan treated his customers (I know his name because it was printed on his shirt). I'm sure he had no idea I was listening but I heard someone that really seemed to value his customers. He treated each on with respect and kindness. I have never had to pawn anything but if I am ever in that position I know who I will come to.

Felt right at home from the beginning. I felt like I was given a fair price for my item and they didnt look down on me ( I have felt like that in other pawn shops). I wouldnt go anywhere else.

I am a struggling realestate agent that at one time did pretty good ( Im sure Im not alone). As you can imagine I go sometimes a few months without a pay check. I had watched some shows on cable about pawn shop however, I had never been in one nor did I know much about them. Finding myself a little short in making ends meet I decided to see about getting a loan on my Rolex watch. I did a little research on different shops in the area as you can imagine I was a little nervous about leaving my $10,000 watch with a perfect stranger. I also asked around with people I knew If they had any reccomendations for me as far as a good place to take it, Most of the people I had talked to that had done buisness with pawn shops in the past reccomended lighting pawn in Midvale. And so I did it I went in to Lighting Pawn not know what to expect. I was treated with dignity and respect right out of the gate I actualy felt right at home from the beginning. They were knowledgable, courtious and I was able to get a loan on my watch. Thank goodness I have been able to make ends meet for the last couple of months but I know that If I need a loan again that Ryan and crew are there to take care of me. Thanks guys!

I had never even stepped foot into a pawn shop before when I ran into a few little nagging financial problems. I called Ryan on the phone to find out a little more how the pawn thing worked and he took the time to explain it to me and made me feel atleast comfortable over the phone. I stopped in later that day to pawn my motorcycle and was very surprised to walk into a clean well organized shop with a super friendly staff ( not at all like I would have imagined it) Ryan right away made me feel comfortable and was able to get the financial help I needed. First and foremost MY DEEPEST APOLOGIES to LIGHTINING PAWN and its staff. To anyone who may have read a review I posted on 6/26/10 stating stating that they were still accepting items on a loan, knowing they were closing down, I WAS 100% MISTAKEN and again I'M SORRY. I was told by a friend who went there to pay on my behalf (i was recently in an accident and was at the hospital) that the doors were locked and the store was empty. After hearing that, i was real upset and was going to do whatever I could to get back the laptop I had taken out a loan against. Except I didn't do the one thing I should have done first and go look for myself. I have shopped at LIGHTINING PAWN before this incident and THEY ARE VERY WONDERFUL PEOPLE TO WORK WITH. Lastly, on Monday , I will be going to their new store location (which is right next door to their old location) to let them know in person how embarrassed and deeply sorry I am for overreacting before properly looking in to it.

To whom it may concern, or may have info. LIGHTINING PAWN located at 7980S. State Street #B, Midvale, UT. Have closed their doors for business, the store is cleaned out, doors locked, and a space available sign in the window. Sadly in these economic hard times these things happen to good people trying to make a living. Where this concerns me is that I had recently been in some hard times myself , I had to pay a bill on short notice so I took a small LOAN out thru them of $125.00 on a laptop, that I just paid about $600.00 for three months prior, with every intention of returning to pay the LOAN in full within the 30 days given. It is my belief that at the time of the LOAN Lightining Pawns OWNERS AND/OR MANAGERS had to know something of their financial difficulties and could have done what any RESPECTABLE company would have done and given a VERBAL WARNING of the risk or just told me no, we are not taking any items on loan at this time. I have bought and sold here many times. The owner is honest and gives a fair price for products. In turn, he also has goods for sale at a fair market value. Now I just wish they were open on saturday.
