Dr. Candace Criscione was born and raised in Scituate, RI and currently resides in South Kingstown. She obtained her undergraduate degree in pre-medicine from the University of Tampa with the long-term goal of becoming a podiatrist. After graduating from the University of Tampa, Dr. Criscione earned her medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in Manhattan. She then completed a three-year podiatric residency in foot and reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham, MA where she served as Chief Resident during her third year. Dr. Criscione is an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery and an Associate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. She is continuously learning and staying at the forefront of podiatric medicine. She is also ACLS/BLS Certified by the American Heart Association. Dr. Criscione has volunteered for Operation Footprint through the Baja Project for Crippled Children where she assisted in performing conservative and surgical treatment on neglected foot and ankle deformities. Dr. Criscione’s priority is to build an exceptional rapport with her patients, deliver compassionate care, and keep herself and her patients well informed in order to personalize and optimize podiatric treatment. Her interests include but are not limited to biomechanical ailments, sports medicine, diabetic foot care, wound care, and limb salvage, and nail health. When she is not seeing patients, Dr. Criscione enjoys spending time with her family, playing and watching tennis, baking and taking her dogs on hikes and trails throughout New England.
