Medicaid Transportation is a free transit service provided by the Addison County Transit Resources for Medicaid-eligible residents of Addison County in Vermont. To be eligible for Medicaid transportation, the patients must be enrolled in traditional Medicaid programs and in Primary Care Plus managed care program. Addison County Transit Resources was founded in 1992 with assistance from the Addison County Regional Planning Commission. ACTR has more than 10 lift-equipped and wheelchair-accessible vehicles and provides over 84,000 rides every year through several programs. ACTR has many programs providing transit services to senior citizens, persons with disabilities and low-income households and individuals. In addition, ACTR partners with many area organizations and businesses to provide transportation for special public events. It is based in Middlebury, Vt.
