The staff is friendly, the people who check your pet are good. The person who checked my dog was quick with her mouth and very aggresive. That was a turn off. My first visit three months ago I had a different person and she was friendly. My major complaint, they try and run more test and try to give you more things that you actually need. This really could raise the cost of your visit. I visited this week. I estimated my bill to be around $900. I stood my ground, they gave my dog what it needed to be healthy and reduced my bill to $489. Well when I was home I checked the bag they gave me that I had my meds. Well they slipped in and treat bag for her bones for $57, Frontline for $45 and Heartgard for $29. I already opened the treat bag. I am returning the Frontline and Heartgard. They owe me $74. Be careful!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a dalmation who had sto...

We had a dalmation who had stones in his urinary tract (not uncommon for the breed, but can become dangerous). Our dog's prognosis was not good, his bladder was all backed up as a result of the uralthiasis. He could not pass urine and was immobilized because of the danger of his bladder bursting, placing him into a fatal condition. Emergency surgery was required and it was promptly done on a weekend. Dr. Squillace (whom I will never forgot) performed the surgery on extremely short notice and stayed much of the day on a Saturday to monitor our dog's (Lucky's ) condition. As it turned out, the first round of surgery was not successful in removing all the stones since there were many scattered throughout his tract. Dr. Squillace told us that she would have to go into Lucky again to remove the remainder of the stones. She told us of the risks again which were heightened since he was already sedated and weakened by the previous surgery only hours apart. Cost was also an issue for us. She talked to us as if she was a member of the family, only after having met her a day prior, but at the same time she was very precise and up-front about everything that was involved. She let us know the outcome may not be good. After a lot of deliberation and emotion and some heartening negotiation, we had Lucky go into double surgery. The same day, that evening, during post-op, we received a call from the staff and they told us that Lucky had made it through and the surgery was a success. Not only that, but Dr. Squillace said that Lucky had even come out of anesthesia, (highly out of the ordinary after that many hours of surgery), and said that we could come over and see him. We could tell this was not typical protocol, but the doctor realized that having an owner's presence would further strengthen Lucky. They were closed during the hour we went in, but they allowed us entry of their own accord because of the special circumstances. Everyone there beamed with affection when we arrived and reassured us while telling us how the operation went, then we visited Lucky who was awake and in a large cage... they opened it and we were allowed to pet him and have him reassure us with his own embrace. It was a blessed moment and one I will never forget. The post-op therapy was to be two weeks of having him boarded at the animal hospital until he regained his strength. We visited him nearly every day we could during then and the staff was very permitting. They had also shortened the two weeks post-op boarding to one week since they were surprised by his quick recovery and didn't want Lucky to get too homesick. They did so at their own expense - our cost would have been higher if he remained for the full two weeks; but they catered to Lucky's needs rather than any financial gain of their own. Lucky was placed on a lifetime prescription diet (Hill's UD) thereafter (to prevent reformation of the stones and keep his urinary tract clean). We went back to Antelyes every two weeks to pick up the canned dog food at a great discount price. Delivery was always prompt and the price rarely rose despite buying the food from them for the many years Lucky lived thereafter. If not for Antelyes, those were years that we would not have had with Lucky. It is truly a compassionate and regarding place, and I cannot think of another place to go to care for my next pets. From my lengthy and traumatic experience with our dalmatian Lucky, the doctors and staff there will not take advantage of you, your animals, or your pockets. Truly some of the best care from a veterinarian I've experienced in all of NYC and Long Island. Thank you Antelyes, and if you are reading this as a pet-owner, I'd vouch on them again for my pet's life and health and the cost both emotional and financial - which is truly rewarding of their service.

Back in July or August 2011, we were looking for a Vet for our new pup.

I ask a couple co-workers and customers at kmart were I currently work at and several of them mentioned Antelyes.

2 customers and one coworker gave me bad reviews, really bad.

We decided to check out and see for ourselves.

A++++ was the end results!!!

Our pup threw up in his carrier upon our arrival. As we waited t see the Vet one of the staff saw the carrier,took and and had it cleaned and dried out in the yard while we had our pup spooky checked out by the staff and vet.

I can't say enough about this little Vet office. Excellent staff and Vet.

Awesome!!!

Just made a Feb 10th visit for spooky for his final shots.

This will be our 3rd visit and they are always busy with customers.

That itself says alot.

If your looking for a Vet for your new pet...I sincerely recomend Antelyes!

I have been going to Antelyes ...

I have been going to Antelyes animal hospital for many years. They have been taking care of my numerous animals with the best possible care available. I have never met a more caring and concerned staff. The doctors are right up to date on all of the best and newest treatments and tests. Each doctor has a very compasionate and patient demeanor. You can never ask a "dumb" question and they will each take the time to explain any thing you do not understand. The receptionists, Yolanta and Natalia, are the best! Always return phone calls as soon as possible, find out information quickly and accurately. The groomer there is out of this world. My dog looks forward to going to see her and she always comes home looking great. I have sent family and friends there and all of them sing the praises of Antelyes Animal Hospital.
