      Yacht Electrical Services, Inc. offers qualified electrical services to the yachting community. Our expertise goes from the small pleasure vessels, to the mega yachts; sail or power boats. We worked in almost every yacht model and make,dealing with worldwide electrical distribution systems, single and three phases; 50 and 60Hz. We are also familiar with different electrical standards, according to the classification societies around the world. Our field of expertise includes: AC systems. Single and three phases; domestic and international power Shore power, transformers, ASEA converters, switch boards, and distribution panels Power generators Variable frequency drives DC systems. Batteries and charging equipment, alternators, battery isolators and combiners. Inverters Engines and controls Bow and stern thrusters Alarms and monitoring General lighting Design of new electrical systems Reverse engineering of existing systems with poor, inaccurate or non-existing documentation. Insulation resistance tests, and also on ground fault detection, monitoring, and alarms in both AC and DC systems Power conversion Sometimes yachts originally built according to an electrical system like European, are sold in the US. We can convert power onboard yachts from one electrical system to another. Besides, we can upgrade the electrical power, in size, quality, and other customizable features, like shore power converters Corrosion survey and repairs Our lead technician has performed hundreds of corrosion surveys on board yachts, and later as a result he had performed the necessary repairs. We have re-designed, and re-wired numerous bonding systems poorly planned and implemented. We are familiar with different corrosion control technics, from the well-known zincs to the more complex impressed cathodic protection systems. We have performed numerous electrical surveys and inspections. We have worked with other marine surveyors during the pre-purchasing inspections, and also during the classification or renewal process. Preventive maintenance is often overlooked; sometimes simple electrical problems can ruin a long planned pleasure trip. At Yacht Electrical Services, Inc. we can inspect your vessel electrical systems, including operational tests. We can also perform batteries load tests, alarm system checks, corrosion survey, electrical survey, insulation tests, and infrared temperature studies.
