Operational since 1957, Southern Gear & Machine Inc. has been manufacturing precision gears and machining tools. The company provides its manufacturing services to the agricultural, utilities, construction, generators, aircraft parts, ship building and commercial machinery industries among others. It offers various types of bevel, spur, helical and internal gears, as well as worm shafts, gearbox components, sprockets and splines. In addition, Southern Gear & Machine Inc. conducts turning, milling, grinding and cutting of gears in-house. It is an AS9100 certified firm and is a member of the American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA).
