Located in Miami, Holmes Elementary School serves more than 300 students in prekindergarten through fifth grade. Founded in 1955, the school s facilities include a media center, computer laboratory, gymnasium, science laboratory and regular classrooms. It conducts classes in health and physical education. Holmes Elementary School offers a variety of extracurricular activities, including student council, chorus, flag and recycling teams, and walking, drama and beta clubs. Its staff includes an academic coordinator, custodians and paraprofessionals. The school offers a range of reading, music, special education, and gifted and talented programs. It also operates a library and media center that houses e-books, books and audiocassettes. Holmes Elementary School is a part of Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
