My credit's bruised, so I bought a used car from a buy here-pay here lot. It was financed by Fidelity Bank. I paid $1,395.90 in interest charges, then paid off the car a year and a half early. To my great shock, I learned Fidelity does not report to any of the credit reporting bureaus. I greatly need some positives on my credit report, but the bank refuses to cooperate because it costs money to belong to the reporting bureaus. I figure for almost $1,400 profit to them, they could report. What's worse, now that I want to trade in the car, I'm being offered yet another 22 percent interest deal, because this good payout does not appear on any of my credit reports. PS: When my (then) fiance' and I refinanced his condo, the broker specifically said, "Fidelity Bank would be happy to refinance you, but we don't recommend it." That should say it all.
