This school was outstanding for our daughter. Mainstreaming is NOT for all children, I don't care what the stats show. Had it not been for Concord Academy and all the staff's hard work and dedication to the special needs student population, our daughter would not have experienced the positive (as regular school setting as possible) as she did. She loved Concord and has many wonderful memories. Our daughter has hereditary spastic paraplegia and it causes learning difficulties, and at the time, minimal physical problems. She graduated in 1998 with an attendance diploma. Her illness has progressed to severe physical impairment now and she is bedridden and completely dependent on us for everything. I tell you all this because to this day, she still talks about her Concord Academy family and we still support this fine not for profit school with annual donations for without them and God, we would definately be very much less blessed.
