Established in 1923, Coletta's Restaurant is an eating destination that specializes in serving a variety of Italian-style cuisine, such as pizzas, sauces, lasagnas, raviolis, manicottis, spumonis and cannolis. Its menu includes Italian cheese fries, toasted ravioli, fried mozzarella, meatballs, barbecued pork, chicken Parmesan, breaded veal patty, shrimp Diane, garlic bread, salmon Florentine and filet mignon. The restaurant has a banquet facility that can accommodate up to 100 guests for weddings, rehearsal dinners, family reunions, birthday parties, anniversaries, corporate meetings and business presentations. It additionally offers reservation, catering and take-out services. Coletta's Restaurant maintains one of its locations in Memphis, Tenn.

I am a Colleta's pizza fanatic! I love this place! Often imitated but definitely never duplicated.
I was born and grew up in Memphis. I would at least once a week go to Coletta's on Summer Ave. for my fix on BBQ pizza. When I was in the service and stationed at Ft. Campbell, I hooked a number of people on it and would return to Memphis on the weekends to take back several pizzas to the base for a feeding frenzy. I had not been back to Memphis for over 25 years and put a trip to Coletta's at the top of my list when I planned my trip there this week. I told my wife and son about how good it use to be and how everyone went nuts over it.
My wife and son ordered regular pizzas as they were not sure if they would like the BBQ. They made the right choice as the BBQ pizza was a major let down and was not even close to what it use to be. The crust, sauce and pork had all been changed. I don't even think the pork had been smoked.
I can't speak for the rest of the menu but this was a major let down for me and I do not plan to go back on future visits.
