We recently were in Germany and Austria and really misses the food. We saw this restaurant while we were driving and had to stop. The food was phenomenal and tasted like we were back in Germany. My husband could not stop praising the food and the authentic beer and applewine!
Great food great service - no negatives at all!!
The food is GREAT. The service is above reproach. There may be a wait, but who wouldn't wait for authentic German food and atmosphere. The music takes you to Germany and the Hofbrauhous. The German beer (Warsteiner) comes in 1 L hofbrau steins, as requested. We wouldn't pass up an opportunity to eat there when we're in town!! We come from WI on vacation and look forward to the meals we get at Edelweiss. Finally, so what if the cook has a small brew while hammering the schnitzel? I'd do the same!!!

your details have a lot to be desired! Open Tuesday to Saturda. No reservations! Only alcohol is beer and wine. Food is outstanding. Atmosphere is bland
Our family have dined here several times and the food is always excellent and plentiful. Great friendly service. Great bar and German beer. The apple strudel is delicious!
I love this little place. It is as big as my house; but the food is so good there is often a long wait to be seated. These owners cater you as if you are truely in Germany. So don't exspect Amerian fast served food!
This restaurant is bad, bad, bad :
- long waits
- awful food.
- Food is soooo salty you can hardly eat it
- Service is awful also
Too bad there are no minus ratings
If you don't get there early be prepared to wait. The food is typical german fare. Yes Heidi's Heidelberg is better as is Cafe Coconut Cove, however neither is easily accessible from Melbourne. Heidi's and Coconut Cove are more expensive.
Food was good. Staff was efficient dong the best they could with a small kitchen. This is the main downfall of the restaurant. The kitchen can only produce so many dishes at a time.
Negative, they ran out of dark beer. Imagine, a german restaurant running out of dark beer.

Just found this place and WOW! is it great!! Unpretentious, casual restaurant with Authentic German dishes and draft beers. Excellent cabbage soup, schnitzels, potato salad, and of course apple strudel. And the prices are very affordable - entrees are about $16 per person. You have to try this place!
