The Keystone Musical Arts Center (KMAC) is a nonprofit school of music that strives to be a valuable community partner. The school currently offers private lessons, classes, ensembles and summer camps in various locations in and around Mechanicsburg, PA. When the new facility opens in early 2016, new programs will be added so that within a year, all of the following options will be available: · Private Lessons on Most Instruments and Voice · Group Classes (Beginner Classes, Music Theory, Improvisation, etc.) · Ensembles (Rock Band, etc.) · Vocal Groups · Homeschool Classes (and eventually a complete curriculum) · Workshops and Master Classes · Recitals · Music for the Very Young · Adult Music Program · Music Therapy · Programs for Other Charitable Organizations The teacher-founders of KMAC have impressive backgrounds: Alumni of prestigious music schools, former school teachers, PMEA (Pennsylvania Music Educators Association) members and leaders, award-winning singer/songwriters, published authors and even a national recording artist with platinum records. The director is a former NYC recording studio manager, radio promoter and manager of national recording artists. Their shared vision is for KMAC to be a teacher-driven, education-focused and community-minded organization. KMAC’s Rock Band program is the most robust in the area. Rehearsals and some performances are currently being held at the Metropolis Art Gallery and Performance Space in downtown Mechanicsburg. Metropolis also hosted the school’s 2015 Rock Band summer camps.
