Founded in 1823, Henry County Sheriff s Department is a public agency that works towards preserving peace, order and safety; enforcing laws and ordinances; and safeguarding constitutional rights. It maintains administration, jail and field operations divisions. Its field operations division consists of the court, civil and transport sections, warrant and fugitive unit, and training and public relations unit. Henry County Sheriff s Department operates a jail that is a 335-bed facility and has a staff of more than 95 sworn officers and various civilians.
