Since holding its first consignment auction in September 1970, the James G. Murphy Company has become one of the largest commercial/industrial auction companies in the United States. It conducts an average of 100 no minimum bid auctions yearly throughout the United States. The company s auction facility, just north of Seattle in Kenmore, Wash., hosts eight large heavy equipment and vehicle auctions every year. The auctions feature equipment from local utility companies, cities, counties, rental yards and contractors, and vehicles from the U.S. Marshals, General Services Administration, fleet vehicles and dealers. The types of auctions include contractor's equipment, machine shops, wood processing, logging, real estate, vehicles, boats, aircraft, computer equipment, office furniture and restaurant equipment.
