The Contra Costa County Library serves more than 902,000 residents through over 20 branches in California. The library owns nearly 1 million volumes and a range CDs, DVDS, digital records and biographies. The library conducts computer and adult literacy classes. The Contra Costa County Library features meeting rooms that host educational, cultural and community meetings, programs and activities. In addition, the library offers children s programs that include storytelling, tutoring, games, music shows and writing workshops. It operates an online research center that provides electronic books and library materials. The Contra Costa County Library issues online library cards. The Contra Costa County Library has received the Best in Show award from the California Library Association.
