Bon Secours Health System is a nonprofit Catholic health care ministry headquartered in Marriottsville, Maryland. The system includes acute care and psychiatric hospitals, nursing care facilities, ambulatory sites, assisted living facilities, retirement communities, home health service and hospice. The Congregation of Sisters of Bon Secours also has health care ministries in France, Ireland, Great Britain and South America. Since 1983, the system has added facilities in Charleston and Greenville, S.C.; Portsmouth, Richmond, Norfolk and Newport News, Va; St. Petersburg, Fla; Altoona, Pa; Hoboken and Jersey City, N.J.; Riverdale, Suffern, Warwick and Port Jervis, N.Y.; and Ashland, Ky. through acquisitions and joint ventures with other religious and non-sectarian organizations.
