West Jefferson Medical Center is a nonprofit community hospital located in Marrero, La. WJMC provides acute, preventative and rehabilitative health care services for the west bank of Jefferson Parish and its surrounding communities. The 462-bed hospital is located just 10 minutes from downtown New Orleans. On campus, WJMC offers a return-to-work center, outpatient physical and occupational rehabilitation, as well as cardiac rehabilitation, emergency services, neurosciences services, diagnostic imaging, a cancer program, open heart and cardiac services, women's services and an aeromedical helicopter flight program. West Jefferson also has adult and pediatrics programs, including a PICU and NICU level III nursery, as well as a pediatric emergency room. Programs are available in occupational health and stroke and spinal cord injury rehabilitation. Its fitness center features workout equipment and an indoor lap pool. The medical center features several neighborhood family doctors, primary care clinics and a behavioral medicine center.
