General Info

We are located in Massillon, Ohio, and cater mostly to the needs of shooters involved in clay target sports. We are distributors of White Flyer clay targets in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Indiana, and New York. We wholesale and retail all popular reloading components, shotgun ammunition, and accessories. We retail Benelli, Beretta, Blaser, Browning, Caesar Guerini, Franchi, Krieghoff, Perazzi, Remington, Silver Seitz, and SKB shotguns. We have been a vendor at the Grand American World Trapshooting Event since 1997 and have a building at the World Shooting Complex in Sparta, IL. Greg and his wife have been trapshooting enthusiasts since 1967 and began the business in 1978 when they obtained a distributorship for Remington clay targets, gradually adding other product lines over the years. For the first two years, this was a part-time business for Greg, as he continued full-time work as an electrician. Today he spends his time working in the wholesale side of the business, scheduling all the shipments to the shooting clubs. ( He also sweeps the floors every morning! ) Pat has won numerous trapshooting awards over the years, obtaining a spot on the Ohio State Trapshooting team 17 times ( ranking first 13 of those years ). She was the first woman in Ohio ( and 52nd in the country ) to reach the 27-yard line and was inducted into the Ohio State Trapshooting Hall of Fame in 1996. She has also been named to the Women's All America Trapshooting Team three times. Her responsibilities with Dawson Enterprises include payroll, accounts payable, trucking paperwork, and all other bookkeeping/paperwork to keep the state and feds happy. Kim has helped out with the business from day one ( when she was only nine years old! ) and became a full-time employee in 1991. She began trapshooting in 1982 but has been a lot more casual about it than Mom and hubby. She still enjoys traveling to some of the shoots but mostly entertains their two children ( Elaina, age 14, and P.J., age 8 ) instead of competing! At Dawson's, Kim's responsibilities include processing the wholesale orders, waiting on walk-ins, purchasing, updating the website, managing customer and inventory databases, etc. Pat began working for Dawson's in 1991 ( when he had some spare time from traveling to shooting tournaments around the country! ) and is in charge of gun sales. He was a hunter from a young age but never began clay shooting until 1982, at the age of 27, starting with skeet but soon moving into trapshooting. He quickly achieved success, in 1986 becoming the 2nd in Ohio and 54th in the country to obtain the Grand Slam ( 400x400 ) and one of only 26 to have also obtained a Grand Slam during Grand American events. He has been on the Ohio State Trapshooting Team numerous times and been named to the Men's All America Team 20 times since 1987. He was inducted into the Ohio State Trapshooting Hall of Fame in 1998. Currently he shoots a Blaser F3 Trap equipped with the patented Stock Lock System, designed by Pat in 2001. Greg is married to older daughter Denise ( laughingly said to have a "real job" somewhere else ) and has been working for Dawson's since 2003, when he retired from HIS real job at the Timken Co. ( If we could afford her, Denise would work here, too! ) After his retirement, Greg was only supposed to work part-time at Dawson's for "something to do" but was quickly promoted to full-time, whether he wanted it or not! Greg pulls all the orders going out on the truck ; loads and unloads trucks ; crawls under and behind desks to find out why the computer, printer, etc., won't work ; packages UPS items ; waits on walk-in customers ; and does everything else that nobody else wants to do ( and always with a smile! ).
