Pony Bird has provided 24-hour care for severely disabled children since it opened in more than 25 years ago. The company specializes in providing services to individuals with profound mental and physical disabilities. It is located in Mapaville, Mo., and hosts more than 45 people. Residential services provided include dietary management, health care, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, recreation and social events. Pony Bird also has educational and day programs with its year-round school for children and day program for adults. Overnight and day respite care is available to families in the Region 11 community that have a child or adult who requires specialized care.
