Founded in 1850, the Manteca Historical Society is a nonprofit organization that provides local historical artifacts and information. It features a museum that displays blacksmith shop equipment, musical instruments and traditional fire engines. The organization also exhibits the culture of Indian tribes. The Manteca Historical Society displays a kitchen that contains a woodburning stove, ice box and hand water pump. It has a collection of ancient and new telephones that shows the changes in communication. The organization also displays the model of Manteca High School with photographs and military uniforms dating back to the First World War. It offers various types of membership plans.
