Clay County Middle School, located in Manchester, Ky., enrolls more than 700 studentsin grades seven and eight. Admissions are on the basis of previous school records, recommendations and standardized testing. The school offers middle school programs that prepare the student for high school, and subject areas include mathematics, literature, English, chemistry, anatomy, microbiology, physics and research. The school offers electives, including etymology, computer technology, physical education, art and music. The school provides various opportunities for its students through fine arts, athletics, clubs and organizations. Clay County Middle School students may participate in choir, band and sports, such as baseball, basketball, track and tennis.
