General Info
The physicians at Virginia Medical Weight Loss Centers are preventive medicine specialists with specific training in bariatric (weight loss) medicine. In addition to many years of experience in the practice of bariatric medicine, our medical director, Jerry K. Lee, MD. PhD. has extensive training with the doctors at Medical Bariatrics of America (MBA). Affiliate nationwide weight loss centers of MBA, have many years of documented and proven success in the field of weight loss and maintenance. Other staff physicians include Frank Hyatt, MD and Getnet Shawel, MD. These doctors have many combined years of experience in general practice, internal medicine, preventive medicine and weight loss. Also on staff is our nurse practitioner, April Brittain, NP, who has several years of experience in the field of bariatrics. Our practitioners and counselors will educate patients about the bodys nutritional needs and what to avoid in order for their weight loss to be successful, using understandable concepts and language. All patients will be evaluated individually and specific needs will be addressed. Honesty, respect, and medical safety for every patient are our highest priorities.
