Velma Hamilton Middle School is a public school offering educational instruction to students in grades six through eight. The school has an enrollment of more than 700 students and is a part of the Madison Metropolitan School District. It offers classes in computers, English, art, music, physical education, science and social studies. It also offers special education services to students with learning disabilities, emotional disorders and mental and physical disabilities. The school s cafeteria serves a la carte and prepacked hot lunch, as well as free and reduced-price food items to its students. It offers various extracurricular activities, such as horseback riding, yearbook, pottery, fishing, dance, juggling, drama, sewing, chess, skateboard and climbing.
