The Disability Determination Bureau is a division of Health Care Financing of the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services in the state of Wisconsin. The department processes disability applications for the Katie Beckett Program and Medicaid Purchase Plan. The Katie Beckett Program provides health care benefits for children up to the age of 18 and who have long-term disabilities and complex medical needs. The Medicaid Purchase Plan offers people with disabilities who are working and interested in work, the opportunity to buy Medicaid coverage. The Disability Determination Bureau determines whether the residents applying for disability benefits meet the criteria for Social Security Disability (Title II) and Supplemental Security Income (Title XVI).
