For nearly a century, DEMCO has been serving the needs of America's libraries and schools. With a variety of product offerings of more than 20,000 items, including thousands of hard-to-find supplies, furniture and equipment, DEMCO provides librarians with specific requirements and needs. The company has grown from four people in the Library Department of the Democrat Printing Company in 1905 to more than 600 coworkers in 2005, in addition to offices in Madison, Wis. and Fresno, Calif. The catalog of products has grown from 12 pages to more than 1,000. In addition, the company has added services, including a subscription service and a turnkey space management service that includes both design and supply for the many different kinds of libraries. The company s branch in Madison employs nearly 165 people.
