Prospect Tavern is a great place for upscale food served at an affordable price. Last week I stopped in for happy hour and all the appetizers were half off. I was informed that happy hour prices were only available at the bar which was ok with me. I ordered steak and shrimp kebabs and the crab cake combo and they were both delicious. I asked if I could eat on the outdoor patio and the bartender kindly informed me that there was no table side service on the patio, but he would be more than happy to set me up and deliver my food. Overall great experience and I will return.

I have to say this place is one of the best in Madison. I ordered the special pasta is it was really good! I did not expect it for an American restaurant but I was happy I did. I have been there a few times for happy hour and dinner; they never disappoint me. The service is great and very friendly. I would defiantly return or recommend it for fellow food and drink lovers!

If you love pasta like I do... you have to try Prospects new sunday rigatoni... wow. Fresh rigatoni in a garlic/basil tomato sauce was out of this world. I've been there quite a few times and everything on the menu is excellent.. but that rigatoni was beyond any five star italian place.. I checked the kitchen after I ordered it just to make sure my italian grandmother wasn't in the Prospect kitchen! I spent the entire day there drinking bottomless Bloody Marys since Anthony made sure my drink was never empty.. Carol trained him well!!! LOL. Football games on the big screen, free wings and dogs and nice patio to get some fresh air all made for terrific Sunday afternoon! Be sure to say hello to Raymond if you go on a Sunday afternoon... he's Sunday staple at the Prospect and will put you on the floor with his straight faced humor!

Prospect Tavern is an AMAZING BAR! If you havent tried it yet, you need to get over there and experience an amazing night. You will leave there very happy and it's a guaranteed good time. The people are great, the service is wonderful and the customers are so friendly. The bar drinks and reasonably priced and the food is delicious :) ENJOY!!!

I went there 1 time with girlfriends to try to find a new place in Madison to have drinks. Bartender was rude and the owner sat at the end of the bar with a nasty look on her face the entire time. If you were not a regular it took a really long time to get served. Seemed like if you werent 18-24 and a Drew student; you were too old to be there. Never will I go back there again!

Nicely renovated pub atmosphere. Menu is comfort food heaven. Great burgers. Have not tried the bar yet, but it looks like it would be a good place for happy hour and munchies.
