In operation since 1970, Shoemaker Elementary School serves more than 650 students in grades one through five. It is a part of the East Penn School District, which operates various elementary, middle and high schools. Shoemaker Elementary School s staff includes various teachers, special education instructors, remedial assistants, teaching aides, custodians and nurses. The school offers a range of extracurricular activities, such as art activities, a band, orchestra, library skill programs, and health, wellness and fitness programs. It also offers speech pathology and guidance and counseling services. In addition, the school provides instructional support programs that include lessons on retelling, phonemic awareness, fluency and written expression. The school s facility includes a library, cafeteria and various classrooms. It is located in Macungie, Pa.
