      Founded in 1974, Meals on Wheels of Macon & Bibb County provides meals for homebound senior citizens and individuals with disabilities. It is a service agency that offers a variety of direct and indirect support services. The meals are administrated by local nonprofit agencies and delivered by caring volunteers every day. Each meal that is supplied is comprised of one-third of the federal nutritional recommended daily allowance. The agency supports a homemaker program that includes basic housekeeping assistance. Meals on Wheels of Macon & Bibb County offers assistance in paying bills and scheduling doctor s appointments. In addition, the agency supports a private pay program for families. It offers volunteer and referral services in Macon, Ga.
