Lyons Upper Elementary School enrolls approximately 480 students and employs more than 40 staff members. The school offers educational programs and extracurricular activities to students in grades three through five. It has a media center that houses a collection of storybooks, newspapers, magazines, picture dictionaries, encyclopedias, and fiction and nonfiction books. Lyons Upper Elementary School s core curriculum includes reading, math, science and social studies. The school offers classes in music, art and physical education. It has a guidance department that provides counseling sessions for parents, teachers and students. In addition, Lyons Upper Elementary School offers the English for Speakers of Other Languages program. Located in Lyons, Ga., the school is governed by Toombs County Schools.
