Summer Street Elementary School provides academic and athletic programs for students in kindergarten through grade four. The school offers classes in English, math, science, social studies and language arts. Its curriculum also includes music, art and physical education. Summer Street Elementary School provides a special education program for students with physical and developmental disabilities. The school also operates a guidance department and offers student support services. The school features a media center that stocks a collection of textbooks, puzzles, picture dictionaries, storybooks, and fiction and nonfiction books. Its parent-teacher organization sponsors several fundraising events and recreational activities. Summer Street Elementary School is governed by Lynnfield Public Schools, which also operates Lynnfield High School, Lynnfield Middle School and Huckleberry Hill Elementary School.
