- Workshops: * Therapeutic Exercise * Treating Lower Extremity Pain * Neck and Shoulders Hatha Yoga as Physical Therapy: I offer physical therapy evaluations and treatment for people with orthopedic and neurological pain or dysfunction. My basic tenet is that people first have to stop imposing injurious mechanical stresses on themselves. When the body does not have to play catch-up, it can start to heal itself with the skillful conscious movements of yoga. Some people use yoga as therapy because they are in physical pain. As a physical therapist, I have discovered how the practice of hatha yoga is therapeutic. I look at people in pain as unaware and unskillful in movement. The question arises to whether one needs individual movement evaluation and personalized instruction. Maybe one's needs can be met in a group yoga class. Typically if one has acute symptoms, individual instruction is recommended. I will treat clients willing to work on their motor inefficiencies in an active way rather than to be the recipient of a passive therapy. Yoga therapy only works when the client is willing to take the awareness's and skills of yoga into their everyday life. This is a process that I will guide you in, if you are committed to the yoga process. These physical therapy sessions are insurance reimbursable by many insurance companies.

General Info
Specializing in Therapeutic Yoga, Meditation & Physical Therapy by Our Experienced Instructors Our History: What distinguishes our classes is their therapeutic value. Stan has been a practicing physical therapist for over 30 years. He uses the awareness and skillful movement of Hatha Yoga as a modality for physical therapy treatment. He has influenced our yoga teachers to look at each of their students biomechanical, then to teach their students the elegant motor skills of Hatha Yoga. He holds regular Physical Therapy continuing education workshops, entitled "Hatha Yoga as Physical Therapy". Our Mission is to share the magic of yoga and meditation to our community. We want to empower our students with the tools of Hatha Yoga and meditation to support them to live satisfying fulfilling lives into wellness. We teach Hatha Yoga classes mainly in the Iyengar, and the Anusara styles. Classes are available at several levels to accommodate the varied skills of our students, whether new to yoga or experienced. The atmosphere in classes is casual and supportive with class sizes varying from 5-30 students. We feel strongly that yoga is therapeutic. As one develops the consciousness and skillfulness of posture and movement of yoga asana, our bodies are facilitated to heal. Each class is different.
