General Info
After finishing medical studies, Dr. Tse received extensive research training in molecular genetics and cellular immunology, focusing on the characterization of erythrocyte membrane defects and hematopoietic stem cell biology. Following his research training, Dr. Tse completed clinical training in medical genetics, hematology-oncology, and stem cell transplant. Since 2003, Dr. Tse has served as a stem cell transplant physician and researcher at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where he studied the use of reduced-intensity conditioning stem cell transplant to treat severe primary immunodeficiency diseases. Dr. Tse has also volunteered as a lead clinical inspector of the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy and served as a member of its Clinical Standards Committee. In 2018, Dr. Tse assumed the position of Director of Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Program at the Norton Children's Hospital in Louisville and University of Louisville School of Medicine. His research activities will focus on the development of innovative cellular immunotherapies to treat childhood leukemia and solid tumors. His laboratory will leverage the CRISPR-based genome editing technology to generate tumor-targeted lymphocytes and explore the use of laboratory-expanded tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes to fight cancer. He plans to establish a translational research laboratory in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices to produce clinical grade immune effector cells for use in clinical trials.
