Jefferson County Public Schools, located in Louisville, Ky., offers a variety of academic and extracurricular programs to students in grades kindergarten through 12. It provides educational services through its elementary, middle and high schools. The school district has an enrollment of more than 97,000 students in over 100 schools. Its curriculum includes language arts, fine and performing arts, reading, math, science, social studies, art and crafts, music, computers, accountancy, finance, chemistry, and health and physical education. It also organizes sports activities, such as soccer, volleyball, cross-country, basketball, cheerleading, football, baseball and softball. It additionally offers various services, such as medical care, immunization, preshool and after school classes, and transportation. The school features computer and science laboratory, library, resource center, and cafeteria. Its parent-teacher organizations involve parents in educational and extracurricular activities of the school.
