- Dental CareYour horse needs regular dental care just like you do and they should have a thorough exam every year. Equine dental care is important for horses during all stages of their lives. Just like humans, horses start out with baby teeth. They gradually shed these baby teeth and grow permanent ones until the age of five-years old. As your horse gets even older, their teeth shift and change making it important to look out for any dental issues that may pop up.
- VaccinationAt our animal hospital, we can meet a wide range of your companion’s preventive health care needs including pet vaccinations. Vaccines help protect pets from viruses and diseases—some of which can be deadly, which is why they’re so important for dogs and cats. Town & Country Equine & Pet Hospital complies with all pet vaccination recommendations of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). We also offer vaccinations that are customized to your pet’s specific needs and lifestyle, steering away from the one-size-fits-all veterinary care. After all, no two pets are exactly alike.
- Nutritional Counseling
- Comprehensive ExaminationEquine radiology is most frequently used in the diagnosis of lameness in horses. Lameness is the most common cause for change in a horses gait and occurs when a horse is either unwilling or unable to stand or move normally. We also use radiology to help new potential owners determine if a horse will be a good fit for them during a pre-purchase exam.
- Parasites Treatment and ControlAdditional services may also be required to make/keep your pet healthy, such as dental cleaning and parasite control. We are equipped to meet virtually all of your pet’s basic wellness needs in our 2,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility, and we look forward to doing so!
- Behavioral Disorder TreatmentFollowing boosters at one year, feline distemper is boosted every three years, and feline leukemia is updated every two years. Our doctors also recommend FeLV (feline leukemia) and FIV (feline aids) screening for kittens. Cats can transmit some diseases to each other, so we may recommend certain non-core vaccines as well. This is especially likely if your cat may come into contact with other cats.

- Spaying and NeuteringWhen you have your puppy or kitten spayed or neutered, you give them a chance at a longer, healthier life. The medical and behavioral benefits are some they’re unlikely to receive any other way. Please schedule a wellness examination for your cat or dog so our doctors can talk more in-depth about the best time for spay and neuter surgery. We look forward to customizing your pet’s care! - Laboratory ServicesWe tailor our medical services to meet your pet’s specific needs. Typically, the first step in diagnosing an illness, injury, or other condition is a physical exam. This is why it’s so important to have your pet examined at least once a year. If the exam alone isn’t enough to diagnose the condition, we move on to the next step, which may involve radiographs, ultrasound, and/or lab testing. Once a diagnosis is made, we can recommend and administer treatment so your companion can be on his way to recovery.

- Dental RadiologyDental care is one of the most important aspects of your pet’s lifelong health. At Town & Country Equine & Pet Hospital, pet dentistry is one of our top veterinary services. We place a special focus on the importance of dental care for each of our patients. Our hospital is equipped with specialized dental equipment including a high-speed dental drill and digital dental radiology, which we recommend for all patients. Digital radiology helps us to identify underlying issues and conditions of the mouth, helping us to make sure that nothing is missed.
- Microchipping
- Senior Pet CareWe recommend pre-anesthetic blood work and a urinalysis for all patients prior to surgery, especially for senior pets. This allows us to determine if there are any underlying health issues that need to be treated first. For your pet’s comfort, we perform all procedures on heated surgery tables. All patients receive an intravenous (IV) catheter. If needed, patients also receive fluids throughout surgery. Pain management injections are also administered before surgery.
